Yesterday in Science, to introduce vertebrate and invertebrate concepts
we used "Stand Up, Hand Up, Pair Up". It's a classbuilding activity
that can be used to motivate, activate prior knowledge, close a lesson or group
of lessons, review previously learned material, and to have fun.
Aim: in silence, they have to find the person who completes the card
they have.
After this activity they were able to observe the differences between
the animals, and of course, to realise which ones have a backbone and which ones
don't. So they learn by doing.
