THE ENORMOUS CARROT by 1st grade B

On Friday we worked on "The enormous carrot" story, we created the mini-book and we also became storytellers, and as professionals, we explained the story to our mates.

Divendres passat vam estar treballant la història de la pastanaga gegant "The enormous carrot". Vam crear un mini llibre i, també, ens vam convertir en contacontes, i com veritables professionals vam explicar la història als nostres companys i companyes.

Estem ENORMEMENT orgullosos dels nostres alumnes!

THE WAY WE LEARN ENGLISH

The best way of learning English during the Infant Education is using this language to communicate with students at all times, creating a total immersion environment. At ages from 3 to 6, it is much easier to acquire linguistic structures and the kids are not ashamed about speaking other languages. In that moment is expected that children respond to commands in English, and communicate mixing languages – including the specific vocabulary in English. When they reach the necessary maturity level, it will be possible to produce grammatical structures, beginning to communicate logical messages. This will happen during the Primary Education.

English language in Infant Education affects in later educational stages as follows: foreign language becomes a standardized language, there’s confidence to communicate in English, it is much greater than if they start in the first year of Primary Education, when children reject the risk of being wrong. Moreover, as we’ve mentioned, if grammar is incorporated orally since childhood, when we incorporate grammatical rules in Primary, the child will be able to link the rule with the practice (as happens in Catalan and Spanish).

Being based on this fact is how we develop our task. We trust this way of doing and our results prove it.

Treballem l’anglès a les aules d’infantil en immersió total i de manera natural per a l'alumnat. En aquestes edats, és molt més fàcil adquirir les estructures lingüístiques i no hi és present la vergonya per parlar un nou idioma. Entre els 3 i 6 anys, el que s’espera és que els infants responguin a les ordres i explicacions donades en anglès, que es comuniquin barrejant idiomes, incloent-hi el vocabulari específic en anglès. I, quan arribin a un nivell maduratiu que permeti produir les estructures gramaticals, començar a crear missatges lògics i coherents (durant l’Educació Primària).

Incloure l’anglès al parvulari repercuteix en etapes educatives posteriors de la següent manera: la llengua estrangera és un idioma normalitzat, per tant, el sentiment i confiança de comunicar-se en anglès és més que si es comencés en el primer curs de l’Educació Primària, edat en la qual, els infants rebutgen el risc a equivocar-se i veuen la incorporació de la llengua estrangera amb una inseguretat que no els fa avançar tot el que es podria. D'altra banda, si des de petits van incorporant les estructures gramaticals de manera oral, quan a Educació Primària s’incorporen les normes gramaticals, els infants són  capaços d’enllaçar els coneixements previs amb l'ortografia arbitràcia, tal com succeix amb el català i el castellà.

Partint dels punts anteriors és des d’on desenvolupem la nostra tasca. Confiem en aquesta manera de fer, i els nostres resultats així ho demostren.

CHRISTMAS PLAYS 5th and 6th GRADE

A 5th and 6th grade students selection  performed a Christmas play and they went on tour around the classrooms.
They did it very well, we have great actors and actresses!

CHRISTMAS IS ALL AROUND

AT THE CINEMA 5è A and AT THE AIRPORT 5è B

Hello families!
The term is about to finish and our students worked different situations.
5è A were at the cinema, they bought a ticket for the film they preferred, ate some imaginary popcorn and enjoyed a film.
5è B went to the airport and they bought a plane ticket for their favourite destination.

El trimestre està a punt d' acabar i els nostres alumnes han treballat diferents situacions.
5è A van estar al cinema, van comprar una entrada per la pel.li que van van voler, van menjar unes crispetes imaginàries i van disfrutar d' una pel.li.
5è B van anar a l' aeroport i van comprar un bitllet d' avió per la seva destinació preferida.

A TOURIST IN BARCELONA 4th GRADE

Hi, families!

Your children worked very hard this term! They created their own dialogues taking a given situation. They were tourists and pedestrians for a day. A tourist was lost in Barcelona and a pedestrian gave him/her indications for finding the place they were looking for.

Els vostres fills han treballat molt durant aquest trimestre. Han creat els seus propis diàlegs a partir d' una situació. Ells van ser turistes i vianants per un dia. Un turista estava perdut per Barcelona i un vianant li va donar indicacions per arribar al lloc que estaven buscant.
